Courses, live classes, fees, certificates — what actually matters (and what is expensive noise) when taking your institute online.
Every ed-tech vendor will show you a feature list three screens long. Most institutes use about twenty percent of it. Here is how to buy what you will actually use.
Non-negotiables
Reliable video delivery (self-hosted or Zoom-integrated), a clean student dashboard, fee collection with automated receipts, and basic assessments. If any of these wobble, nothing else matters.
Strongly consider
Attendance and batch management for hybrid operations, auto-generated certificates, a parent-facing progress view, and a companion mobile app once you cross ~500 active students.
Nice to have, not deal-breakers
AI proctoring, gamification layers, marketplace features. Add them when the core runs smoothly — not before.
Own your platform
Marketplace platforms take 30–50% and own your student relationships. A custom LMS at entry pricing typically pays for itself within one admission season.
